I'm Kirsten Wilson (nee O'Connor). I earned my Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University graduating in 2011. My design style is unconventional but clever use of spaces that are carefully thought out. I build your style preferences into the overall finish with priority given to locally sourced products and plants.
People are the centre of my design philosophy, supported by natural processes and ecology. I like build a little bit of fun and a few unconventional features into a design because why not? Although our urban landscapes are built for people, we also share them with wildlife so most plants and products should provide either food or shelter for insects, lizards and birds, especially our native creatures that struggle to compete with introduced species.
In previous years I have worked for MWH a large engineering company on roading projects and 2degrees mobile planning the cellphone tower network.
I design and consult for property owners from the Orari River to the Waitaki River and everywhere in between.
See my blog for more thoughts about design and supporting natural systems such as NZ native ecologies.
